How can i pull up old quotes given to clients when in customer transaction list. I can see at the bottom where i can scroll in their history, but feature not working

Greetings, @realpurdy1.

I'm here to make sure that you're able to view your old customer quotes. Let's first perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate this unexpected behavior for possible browser related and get you back to business.

You can try accessing your account using a private/incognito browser and view your old quotes or estimates Here are the keyboard shortcuts that you can use:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

To view your customer's past transactions, you can customize and generate the Transactions List by Customer. Here' how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Sales and Customers section.
  3. Double-click on the Transaction List by Customers report.
  4. Click the Customize button.
  5. Set the date range of the report.
  6. Expand the Filter section.
  7. Choose Estimate or Quotes from the Transaction Type drop-down.
  8. Mark the Customer tick box.
  9. Pick the Customer's Name.
  10. Click the Run Report button.

If it works successfully, you can go back to your default browser to clear its cache. This way, you can temporarily delete some internet files and improve your browser's performance. However, if you're still unable to view your old quotes, you can use another browser for this.

Further to the question that has been asked, I have an issue that I was hoping you could assist on.  I have an estimate (e.g. estimate 1234) that has been sent to the client.  Since being sent, I've revised the estimate several times (let's say 6 times).  I have also partially invoiced (some, but not all, line items) based on the newly created version 6 of estimate 1234.  Is there a way to revert back to a previous version (version 4) of the estimate at this point?

Hi there, XavierMarcel.

I'm here to guide you on how you can see the information from your previous revise estimate.

Rolling back to the previous estimate version is currently unavailable. However, you can use the Audit Log to see the information on your old estimate. Then, you can take note of the changes and edit the newly created one.

Here's how to access the Audit Log:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Audit Log under Tools.
  3. Locate the estimate and click the View link under the History column.
  4. From there you can take note of the information.

Then, go to the newly created estimate and modify it base on the gathered information.

For your reference, you can refer to this guide to learn more about this type of transaction: Create and send estimates in QuickBooks Online.

In addition, check this resource if you want to create custom-specific reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Reply to this post if you have further concerns about estimates. We're always open 24/7 to help you. Have a great day!

That is helpful, thank you.  However, the secondary issue is that, in a later version of the estimate (version 6), some line items that contained partially invoiced services were deleted.  So, I'm trying to get back to an older version (version 4) in hopes of restoring the lines (and the connected partially invoiced information). If this can't be done, and I recreate the estimate as you suggest, how can I show that certain lines have already been invoiced?  In other words, how do I tie an existing invoice to the newly updated estimate such that the estimate has a proper reflection of the invoiced items?  Does that make sense?

I understand your point, XavierMarcel.

I'm here to help with managing your estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once done recreating your estimate transactions, you can convert or add them to your invoices. Here's how:

  1. Open the invoice transaction.
  2. Add a note to the line items coming from the deleted estimate.
  3. Click on the small arrow icon beside the Balance Due.
  4. Locate the newly created estimate, then select Add.
  5. Set how much you want to invoice, then click on Copy to invoice.
  6. The estimate will now be added to your invoice.
  7. Repeat the steps for the other customers.

To learn more about estimates and how you can convert them into invoices, you can open these articles:
