I have one business with several dba's and want the individual business names on my invoices, packing slip, etc. but when I change one it changes all of them.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Make changes to the template(s) in the layout designer:
- Remove the standard business name and/or address from the template.
- Right click to add a text box and put the desired co name and address in the field.

Does this work for QuickBooks Online?
Thanks
Where can we select the specific invoice template to use when trying to issue the invoice in QB Online?
Thanks

Hi there, @pino.
When creating invoices in QuickBooks, the last template that was used will be set as the default option the next time you create one.
Allow me to walk you through the steps on how to do it:
Now you'll be creating and editing templates like a pro in no time. You may find this article helpful as well: Use and customize form templates.

I have the same question, but this solution isn't ideal because you still have to manually recreate your company names with each invoice. Isn't there a way to separate the DBA's by sign-in, yet have them all act like the single company they are? I used to have this ability when I worked for a previous company but it went away when I set up my own...
Thanks for checking in with us, kaimukiguy.
If the DBA is the same business and using different names, you can setup several DBA's under one business account in QuickBooks Desktop. However, if they are different businesses, then that option is unavailable. They have to have their own company files and each business files its own tax returns. For more details about Doing Business As, check out the What is a DBA? Everything small business owners need to know article.
You can also upload a Word Document to enter the different company information. Also, you'll have to customize the templates for each additional DBA. To create and edit templates, see the Use and customize form templates article.

Just to clarify...
I have two DBA's under one company.
I need to use those both in QB Online to invoice, is this possible?
If not please make it so.
Thanks!
Thanks for joining in this conversation, @cd_albert. At the moment, the only option to send invoices under different DBA in QuickBooks Online is through Location tracking.
I appreciate your inputs and will share your idea with our developers. In the meantime, you can visit our QuickBooks Resource Center to get some steps and guides from our published articles.

Hi Katherine,
Thanks for the quick reply. Could you explain how to do that? Looking at your link for Location Tracking it's notclear.
Please do pass this on, it's a pretty simple request to have invoice templates be independent of the company data. Can I suggest that become an option in the invoice template page.
Right now this means I will haver to change my company data, logo, name etc every time I send an invoice for the other DBA I have.
Cheers.

Hi cd_albert
I highly recommend viewing Hector Garcia's "Quickbooks Online: Customizing form templates/adding a logo on invoices on his Youtube channel. It works like a charm! You can also customize sales receipts and estimates.
