I need to resolve an issue with a NSF

Hi there, Agpeak54. To resolve an NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) hold and get your payroll moving again, you'll need to follow a specific set of steps based on the email QuickBooks sent you.

When the payroll transaction failed, an email was sent to your Primary Admin or Principal Officer. Look for an email from Intuit with the subject line: "Important: Urgent issue with the payroll account for [Your Business Name]." * The Code: This email has a Return Code (like R01 or R02) that explains what happened and what to do next.

If the Payroll Admin listed on your account didn't receive the email, have them check their junk or spam folder. If you can't find this email, consider contacting our live support team. They will investigate and help you resolve the NSF hold.

When Intuit receives payment, the NSF hold will be removed within one banking day, and your payroll service will be back to normal.

Since Direct Deposit is "on pause" while the hold is active, you can't pay employees electronically right now. However, you can continue to run payroll through paper checks during a hold. Once the hold is lifted, you can record these checks in QuickBooks as "Handwritten" or "Manual" to ensure your taxes remain accurate.

You can refer to this article for more information: Resolve a non-sufficient funds (NSF) hold on your payroll service.
