Join nowI am trying to run a open sales order report with the following columns pulled from the Sales Order Screen: item, item description, date due, and ordered. Then I would like to be able to sort them by date or by item depending on what I am needing the report for.
When I am on the Open Sales Order Report and try to run one with my requirements, the date and date due show the same date (Why isn't the date due pulling from the Sales Order?)
I want to be able to see how many of one part with different orders are ordered with their individual due dates.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Hello there, @sdietrich72.
You can pull up the Open Sales Order by Item report and set the columns for Item, Item Description, Date, Due Date, and Ordered.
Here's how:
Once done, you can then Sort the report by Item or by Date. From there, ordered items can be seen below the Invoiced column. If you are using Shipdate field then by default it will pick a date which is current date or from the last transaction.
You can also pull up a Custom Report and choose the Transaction Detail as your basis for getting the data you need.
I've added articles as your references as part of the information about reports in QuickBooks Desktop:

Thank you so much for the great instructions! However, when I follow the steps, my date, ship date, and due date are all the same date. I do not understand why my due date on the report is not the same due date I entered on my Sales Order screen. Any ideas?
Thanks for getting back to us, sdietrich72. I'm here to help share additional details about this.
The Sales Order in QuickBooks Desktop doesn't have a Due Date. With that said, the due date that shows on the report is base on the invoice date.
