Recurring invoice option does not show up under the new invoicing interface.

Hello, gruvii!

Yes, you're right that the recurring invoice feature is not available in the new invoicing layout. However, we're working on adding it as we make improvements to the new interface. If you want to switch back to the old layout because of this, please follow the steps below.

  1. Select + New.
  2. Choose Invoice.
  3. At the top right of the form, select Old layout.

This article will give you more information about the new Invoicing (and Estimates) layout: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

You can always go back to this thread if you have other concerns with the new features in QBO. I'm just around to help. Take care!

Thirteen months later and we still can't make an existing invoice created with the new layout be a recurring transaction! The Help page titled Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online says I will be able to, and yet I'm not... Once again I must ask, why do I pay Intuit?

We're taking note of your feedback!

I recognize your sentiments about not being able to create recurring invoices with the new layout. Please know that our product engineers are creating improvements to the new interface in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

While this feature isn't available, I suggest submitting feedback directly to our product engineers. They may look into this suggestion further and consider adding the option in QBO. To submit feedback, you can go to the Gear icon and select Feedback. Then, enter your suggestion and click Submit Feedback.

Also, you can visit our blog site so you'll be able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I'll be more than happy to assist you again.

Thank you for acknowledging my comment, but I must take issue with what you said. You wrote, "Please know that our product engineers are creating improvements to the new interface in QuickBooks Online" and "While this feature isn't available, I suggest submitting feedback directly to our product engineers."

If the product engineers are creating improvements, are they creating THIS improvement? And this isn't an improvement, this was a standard feature in the earlier invoice creation.

And I should suggest the engineers add this "improvement"? Because they aren't already? And if they are already creating it, I should submit feedback to tell them to do it while I'm waiting for it to be done? The engineers need to be constantly nagged to complete their tasks?

And I submit feedback to product engineers frequently, and certainly already about this issue, more than once. That's why I posted my earlier comment, I'm so frustrated and tired of waiting. How hard could it be to code this, it was a standard feature in the old format.

Amen! I just recently got switched to the new Invoice Layout and just realized that I can no longer create a recurring invoice from an existing invoice, which I had been doing for YEARS. It seems that it should just be a matter of flipping a switch back on in the Dev department. Very disappointed to go backwards.
