I'm here to help you with generating a report that lets you view the item's price history, @Kimbearly2002.

You can run an audit trail report to view the item's price history.

Here's how to run the report:

  1. Go to the Reports menu, hover to Accountant and Taxes, and select Audit Trail.
  2. Click the Customize Report button, then mark Item under Columns.
  3. Select the Filters tab, then search for Item.
  4. In the Item dropdown, look for the item and click on OK.

For detailed guidance in running and customizing reports in QuickBooks, refer to this article:

You may also check the following article on how to export your report in case you need to use them in Microsoft Excel: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm always here if you need more help in getting the report that you need. Just let me know by leaving a reply below. Keep safe and have a wonderful day!

I followed your instructions and this is not helpful. I need just the prices of the items not how they are on invoices. I made changes and forgot which ones I changed and which ones i did not change. i don't need everything this else. It is only bringing up the invoices that the items are on.

This did not show which ones were not changed. I need to know what the prices were in august and what they are now. I need to make sure that these prices were not raised twice. Does that help?

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @Kimbearly2002. Let me provide other steps to help you see the previous pricing of your item in QuickBooks.

We can generate a Quickreport for your items in your file. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu.

  2. Choose Item List and select the item.
  3. At the bottom, click the Reports tab and select QuickReport.

  4. On the Report page, choose the Customize button.
  5. Select the Display tab, and under Columns, look and choose Sales price.
  6. Go to the Filters tab, select the Transaction type
  7. Once done, click Ok.

Otherwise, you can run the Sales By Item Detail report. To show the information you want, you can customize it. For more insights on how you can personalize your statements, please refer to this resource: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Additionally, I've attached an article you can read to help you manage items in your account: Add, edit, and delete items

I'll be around if you need more help running a report for your items in QuickBooks. Thanks for reaching out, and wishing you have to have a lovely day.
