12/07/22 update and estimate issues

Good evening everyone,

I'm looking to share my concern with the most recent update on 12/07/2022 and hopefully find a resolution. I'm not sure if I am the only one experiencing these issues as I'm getting different answers from QB support. IOS app updated which removed features and has a new look from 1999. Main issue I'm having is with estimates sent from app and web browser, they no longer get emailed with a QB UI and weblink that allow the client to Review and Pay. Instead the it is sent as text in the body of the email and pdf(if that setting is selected). Invoices are still perfectly fine, I have estimates sent 12/06/2022 without any issues at all.

So far I have talked to a gentleman on the phone this morning who informed me I am not the only one having these issues, it's the update. They did this because they're trying to get rid of the app and there's no plan to fix or revert back to the previous version.

I attempted the chat help this evening and these are the responses I received along with remote access to try to resolve this issue. This is mind boggling.

I totally understand, This new layout is on Beta version meaning to some of the features on this new lay out is not working properly, and you are one of our customers that gets to see what this new layout looks like, maybe you can help us eave a feedback for the new lay out and from there we promise that we're going to make it convenience for you to use.

I'm so sorry to know that Andrew, base in my resources you have a payment subscription so that's why the format on your invoice is different in the estimates

QuickBooks Team
December 9, 2022

Hi there, squared away.

Know that this is not the kind of service we want you to experience. I'll assure you that I'll help you today.

Discovering new ways to adapt to our customer's needs is how QuickBooks gets even better. Your feedback helps our Product Development team determine which feature will be implemented in the next future update. The change is also based on how popular a specific feature request is.

That being said, I'd recommend sending feedback to our Product Development Team. This way, they may consider adding this option to our future product updates.

  1. Go to the Help menu at the top and select Send Feedback Online.
  2. Click Product Suggestion.
  3. Select Send Feedback.

Feel free to visit these links about how to personalize and handle estimates.

Please let me know if you have other questions about your estimates. I'm delighted to help. Take care.

That has already been done. This is clearly not a feature that needs to be added, it's a basic function of the software that needs to be fixed. I look forward to getting real help with this issue.

Seriously. Thank you so much for posting this and glad I found it. I thought I was going crazy the past few days and have spent hours just to figure out what or if I had did anything on my end. Then I spent an hour on chat today for them to tell me about this BETA bs again. Insane and unbelievably frustrating. I can at least sleep easy tonight knowing there is nothing I can do. Thank for posting.

I left this as feedback:
I just spent an HOUR of my life on QB chat only to be sold the same dumbed down thing about this being a BETA version. You took something perfect and brought it back to the beginning stages of the internet. This change has profoundly affected my business and mind space. I will be resorting back to Wave App until this is sorted out. What change? On December 8th or 9th, some change was made that resorted the entire user backend for estimate and invoice creation to some design from the 90s. I was not even able to emulate my previous estimate through the custom form styles, not a remote possibility. A $100million dollar plus company rolling out so a change is just mind numbing to me. I'll be back when this is worked out.

Glad I could help. I spent three days and probably 6 hours going insane before I just gave up. There’s absolutely zero support for QB. I also came from wave and don’t understand how a free software never had this issue.

I’m guessing because they have market share and know accounting software isn’t something someone will drop and move to a different provider, they really don’t care about the support side. All four reps wasted time trying to remotely go in and change estimate templates repeatedly for over an hour each. Bottom line is this update should never have happened, but at least train your employees to know the product and just tell me they can’t fix it if instead of wasting time.

Not sure why my last reply is not showing yet. But thank you for posting this and letting me know I am not crazy. I hope they fix this ASAP
