Sales tax

I am from Canada. I want to set up 2 separate HST accounts in QBO. One with 123456789RT0001 and 123456789RT0002 for 2 separate locations under 1 corporation. How can I do this? The purpose is to track HST for 2 locations separately in QBO since I have 2 HST accounts for filing.

1. If two separate GST/HST returns can be prepared

2. Balance sheet must reflect the GST/HST payable columns according to classes

Thanks for your interest with the sales tax preference in QuickBooks Online, @Ayisha.

 

To share some insights with you, QuickBooks will allow you to assign a single GST/HST account for sales tax. The option to assign a second account is not yet available for now. This also means that filing only works for the business account set up in the program.

 

Regarding the Balance Sheet report, it will display the GST/HST Payable and Suspense account. However, these accounts are not displayed by classes, they will go to the Not Specified columns.

 

Please know that you can share your suggestion within the program through sending a product feedback. Follow the steps below in a web browser:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestion for our engineers on the Feedback box.
  3. Once done, press Next to send it.
