Question

Entering Deposits "Received From:" Client, Vendor or Employee Only?

In Banking > For Review, QBO allows me to identify the person/entity from whom the deposited funds were received (the Received From field). It offers to add them as either a client, a vendor or an employee.

If I type in a person/entity who is not on either the client, vendor or employee lists currently, QBO offers to add them as either a client, a vendor or an employee.

I can't find a way to enter a person/entity in this field without identifying them as either a client, a vendor or an employee. How do I do that?

Hi, @jeffbean

I hope your day is going well so far. At this time, there isn't a way to enter a person/entity without identifying them as a client or vendor. However, I'll send feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider other options for this feature in one of the upcoming releases. They take the time to review every customer's request.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Bye for now!

Thank you for confirming that QBO requires persons/entities from whom are business receives money as either a client, vendor or employee, and for passing  this on as a suggested improvement.

These days many businesses are getting payments from "SBA Treasurer" (as my bank codes it). It is more than a bit forced to require my books to show the US Treasury for the Small Business Administration as either a client, a vendor or an employee.
