How do you work with transactions, like pulling business vs personal, adding them up, etc?

Working with transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is my masterpiece, @missmick.

When categorizing downloaded transactions in QBSE, you have the option to choose either Business, Personal, or Split. The Business category is for business transactions and Personal for personal transactions. While Split allows you to enter the amount if the transactions are paid to both business and personal accounts.

Also, you can filter the type of transactions to pull up the business and personal entries. However, you'll want to export the transactions to Excel to add them up and compare. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBSE account.
  2. Go to the Transactions menu.
  3. In the Type: All drop-down, select Business or Personal.
  4. Click the Download icon to export it to the Excel file.
  5. From the Excel file, you can add them up and compare.

I'm adding this article for more guidance: Export transactions and get reports in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
