Welcome to the Community, lauren-schreiber.

When working with deposits in QuickBooks Online, the term match refers to a downloaded transaction that's been matched with a record you've already entered. This links both so there aren't any duplicates. All you have to do on your end is confirm the match is correct.

Here's how it's done:
1. Click a transaction to expand its view.
2. Review your Records found. These are transactions you've already recorded.
3. Use the link next to each entry for more details.
4. Look over the Deposit to field on your forms. Your transaction will already be in the account listed.
5. Select Match.

Now QuickBooks knows this bank record is the same one you already entered and won't create a duplicate. Your work is complete.

I've included a resource about categorizing and matching transactions that may come in handy moving forward: Categorize & match online bank transactions

I'll be here to help if there's any other questions. Have a lovely day!
