Reconciliation Discrepancy

I previously had all of 2019 reconciled with no issues and then recently came into the office to reconcile Jan & Feb of 2020. I went to start January and for some reason the beginning balance was off even though it was correct previously. I had to go back all the way to March of 2019 to find a month that had the right beginning balance and start over from there. Everything was good until I got up to Aug 2019 and it is showing a difference of $2038.96 even though everything checked off that matches my statement. The beginning balance is correct at $220.82 and the ending balance is correct at $1019.48. I also see that the total for payments and credits and charges and cash advances equal the amounts on the statement. I have no idea where the $2038.96 difference is coming from? Everything on the screen matches the statement I have. Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong? I am wondering if Quickbooks has a bug. Or maybe I'm just missing something obvious? I don't understand why everything was fine with the reconciliations and then all of a sudden the opening balance was wrong and now I have this huge discrepancy.  As far as I know nothing was changed or deleted.

Hey there, @LaurenPorter. Thanks for reaching out.

If you're seeing a difference only for the month of August, I recommend filtering to that month within the register of the account to see if any of them have the status, "✔" next to them. If that's the case, click that until nothing appears in the box, as shown below.

That's it! For more information on common reconciliation issues, I recommend checking out:
