Question

Payroll

I made a change to a couple of my payroll accounts that ended up affected FICA ( they were originally set up incorrectly)and after making those changes I received an error stating the change I made affected some of my employees and they need to be fixed.  FICA taken in this first payroll of the year was not enough. When I look at their record, there is a liability adjustment.  What do I need to adjust to fix this error?

Thanks

Hi Wendy,

I'll help by providing information.

Normally, we can (create a backup file and) make adjustments to correct the amounts in the Payroll. However, I wouldn't recommend doing this without letting one of our agents see your setup. As you mentioned, the change in the account caused this, so there could be possible effects in the previous quarters that we need to check as well.

Please contact our Chat team so they can start a screen-sharing session with you. They are available on weekdays from 6 AM to 6 PM PST.
