I need to apply for tax extension for my individual tax returns and my Scorp before the deadline tomorrow 4/15/2026. With Quickbooks closed during weekend, any suggestions?

Hi Kranthikrao, you can apply for a tax extension directly through the IRS using several methods. You may use IRS Free File to submit an electronic request, or submit your payment through an IRS online portal and select the option indicating that the funds are being applied toward a filing extension. Alternatively, you can request an extension by mail through an authorized e-filing partner or a qualified tax professional.

Please note that for your business tax extension, you need to select a code for the type of tax return your business files and enter your tentative total tax, total payments, and remaining estimated balance due.

For detailed information regarding tax extensions for both individual and business returns, you can refer to this article: File for a federal tax extension.

You can also visit this site for further information about filing directly with the IRS: Get an extension to file your tax return.
