The missing component error message usually means QuickBooks has lost its connection to the Windows PDF/XPS generation tools.

Here is the step-by-step sequence to get this cleared up quickly:

  1. Close QuickBooks completely. Download and open the latest QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Navigate to Program Problems and select QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool.
  3. Reopen QuickBooks and try to email an invoice.

@MattH63 Did you reinstall your QB program on Win 11? What QB Desktop year version?

Yes, reinstalled on Windows 11.  QB Pro 2024

To resolve the issue, search at the bottom of your Windows 11 screen for "run." Then ope the "Run App" that came up under your search and typed "optionalfeatures" into the Run App. A "Windows Features" window then open and scroll down to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" and check the box next to it. I then pressed "OK". You should be able to start creating PDF Invoices again.
