Printing AP checks from multi user mode in QuickBooks Desktop

We use Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise 22.0.

Suddenly, I am unable to print AP checks while in Multi-user mode and have to switch to single user mode.

We do not print a signature on the checks.

Any idea why I would have to be in single user mode?

Hi, @Curious6

Printing AP checks in a multi-user mode is possible in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). If you can't print your transactions, I recommend running updates to keep your software up-to-date and fix common issues like printing checks.

Here's how:

  1. Close your company files and QuickBooks.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu.
  3. Search for QuickBooks Desktop. Right-click the icon and select Run as administrator.
  4. While on the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  5. Go to the Options tab. Select Mark All and then select Save.
  6. Go to the Update Now tab and select the Reset Update checkbox.
  7. Click on Get Updates.

When the update finishes, close and reopen QuickBooks, then select Yes to install updates. You can also restart your computer to start fresh.

Additionally, you can open this article for additional resolution: Troubleshoot PDF and Print problems with QuickBooks Desktop. It gives you insights on how to run the QuickBooks Print & Print Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub to isolate printing errors in QBDT.

If you're getting the same result while printing the entries in multi-user mode, I recommend reaching out to our Support Team so a live agent can look and investigate this behavior securely.

Post again if you have any other questions while printing your checks and other entries. I'll be right here to help. Keep safe!

Did you ever get a fix for this issue? I'm suddenly having the same problem. Quickbooks support was not helpful. Said I would need a paid subscription to support for them to help me?! Thanks.

Hi there, Djk443.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Support Team. I understand that you want to print checks in QuickBooks without having unexpected issues. With this, I'll ensure you'll be routed to the right person to assist you further on this printing vendor transaction.

The details above are the steps to resolve unusual behavior like being unable to print AP checks while in Multi-user mode. With this, I recommend following those instructions so you can print your transactions.

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team again. They have the tools to pull up your account which is required in investigating the cause of why you can't print checks.

Please know that you'll need to make sure that you have a paid and active subscription to ask for any issues in utilizing printing entries. Otherwise, you won't be able to ask an assistant to live technical support or other Intuit services and won't receive the latest security patches and updates.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to view information on how you can delete or void a check in QBDT: Create, modify, and print checks.

Fill me in if you have other questions about printing checks or any QuickBooks concerns. I'll be around to help you, Djk443. Stay safe and take care always!

Did all of this. No difference. It will not print except in single user mode. I have Quickbooks Desktop 2020; find it hard to believe I can't get patch update for this issue; my program is only 2 years old. Frustrating to say the least.
