Looking for help on generating a P&L report that shows Jan - Aug actuals by month and then Sept - Dec budget amounts by month to give me a full year updated forecast.

Hoping someone has already solved this because it's driving me crazy.

Thanks

Let me help ease your confusion, @mcomer.

When you run the Budget vs. Actual report, you'd see two columns on it. One column shows your Actual income and expense while the other once displays the budgeted amount. You can customize this report to show the information you need.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select the Reports tab.
  3. From the Business Overview section, locate the Budget vs Actuals report.
  4. Set its date range to Custom (01/010/2020 - 12/31/2020).
  5. Click the Run Report button.

Also, you can save this customized report so you'll be able to pull it up easily in the future. To save it, just click on the Save customization button. Then, you can locate it on the Custom Reports tab when needed.

Feel free to let me know if you have other questions about running reports in QuickBooks. I'd be glad to help you.
