Credit Card Feed Question

I need help. The credit card company switched providers mid month in March to April billing cycle. I can’t access the statement either. So the business had a delay in collecting all of the credit card receipts during the cycle so I kept the 1st feed up (account no. 1020) and set up a 2nd account number (account 1021) to pull the new card provider info into. I have just recently obtained the last of the March receipts and shut the feed off on the 1st card (account 1020). I tried to reestablish the feed for the 1st card but it won’t let me access info more than 30 days old. I thought I could update the feed for the 1st account and swap the receipt info from Apr-Sept from the acct 1021 to 1020 easily. I was wrong. How can I fix this so it is all under the first credit card feed without losing all the receipt details from Apr-Sept. that is in the second feed?

You can merge the accounts by editing the second account to match the first one. Once unified, all transactions will automatically route to your primary account, and the edited second account will become inactive.

Please note that merging accounts is permanent and cannot be reversed. For additional details, check this article: Merge duplicate accounts in your chart of accounts.

To complete the account merge, you have to disconnect the account you want to merge first. Here's how:

  1. Go to All apps and select Accounting.
  2. From Bank Transactions, locate the second account tile.
  3. Click the Edit icon, and hit Disconnect account.

Once done, you can proceed to merge. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Chart of Accounts and locate the second account.
  2. Click the dropdown menu beside the View register link and choose Edit.
  3. Rename the Account name to match the first account, and make sure the Account type and Detail type also match the first account.
  4. Hit Save to show the Yes, merge accounts option, and click it to complete the process.

Afterwards, please have your accountant review the post-merger transactions to ensure your records are accurate.

Since your first account doesn't allow QuickBooks to automatically download transactions that are older than 30 days. I recommend logging in to your bank's website, exporting the older history as a CSV file, and manually uploading it into QuickBooks Online.
