Getting Data from Quick Book Is very Slow and time consuming

There are a few possible reasons for the unexpected behavior or performance issues with QuickBooks Desktop. Here are some:

• QuickBooks is not updated.
• Computer does not meet the minimum system requirements.
• Damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file.
• Corrupted hard drive.
• Damaged program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation.
• Damaged Windows operating system

Don't be discouraged thou, that's why the QuickBooks Community is here to help and assist. One tool you have at your disposal is the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. With it, you can make sure all the programs and background process are running and updated. Here's how to download and use it:

1. Download the QuickBooks Install DiagnosticTool.
2. Save the file to your local Desktop.
3. Close any open programs and run the QBInstall Tool.
4. Reboot the computer after running the tool to ensure the components are properly updated.

I've seen this happen many times before.  This is especially true when your accounting is set to cash basis and your QBs data file is large.  

I would try condensing date past two years ago.  This should speed up processing.  

If you are not set to a cash basis, follow the instructions from the other advisor.
