It's my priority to assist you in exporting your payroll transactions from online payroll to QuickBooks Desktop.
When using the Standalone Payroll Product, you have the option to export your payroll transactions into either QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop for Windows (IIF).
To accomplish this goal, let's set up your export preferences first on your payroll.
Here's how:
Select the Gear icon in the top right corner
Click on Payroll settings
Select the Pencil icon next to Export
Choose either QuickBooks Desktop for Windows: downloadable IIF (Intuit Interchange Format) file and select Continue
If selecting QuickBooks Online, you may be prompted to log in to select the company. You will then be asked to select the company you want to export into.
If selecting QuickBooks Desktop for Windows, you will be asked to type in the name of each account you are exporting your liabilities and expenses to. We recommend that you have a copy of your QuickBooks chart of accounts handy for this.
Once done, you can now export the payroll transactions.
To do that:
Select the Gear icon in the top right corner
Click on Payroll settings
Select Export transactions in the Export section
A screen will appear letting you know how many transactions and of which type are being exported. You may need to allow popups if you are using the QuickBooks Desktop for Windows option
Lastly, I'd also recommend updating your QuickBooks Desktop regularly, to keep your software up-to-date so you always have the latest features and fixes.
I'm always ready to help you with any QuickBooks concerns that you may have. Just visit me here anytime. Have a lovely day!
