How to get Quantity by Lot Number in Advanced Reporting

Hello,

I am looking to create a report in advanced reporting that shows the quantity of each item by lot number. I am able to pull in the quantity by item, or quantity by site, but there is not an available field for quantity by lot. Is there an expression or calculated dimension that would allow me to create this field that shows the quantity of the lot number?

Thank you

Good day, alondon. Generating your report that displays the quantity of your item by lot number is my top priority today.

I know how important it is for you to generate a report in Advanced Reporting that sorts the quantity of each item by lot number. While the field is unavailable, you can run the Item Listing report to generate this information. Then, add the Lot NumberQuantity on Hand, and other columns you want to show to narrow down the result. Here's how:

  1. Open your QBDT file.
  2. Tap on Reports, then select Item Listing from the List menu.
  3. Customize and filter the data by clicking on Customize Report.
  4. Review the information provided.

From there, you may also click on each lot number to verify the item details.

For more tips while running your inventory reports in our system, you can open this article: Create and run inventory reports.

Moving forward, you may save the current customization settings of your report to save time in the future. See this article as your reference: Create, access, and modify memorized reports.

If you have other questions in mind regarding your inventory entries, let me know by leaving a comment below. I'm more than happy to help you again. Have a good one!

The problem with that report is that it doesn't clearly show the quantity by lot. QuickBooks has a major limitation by not allowing you to run a report by lot number, so I am trying to use the advanced reporting feature to work around that limitation. Is there a different community that can help with advanced reporting?

Hi there, @alondon.

I understand how beneficial it is to have the option of running a report by lot number. However, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop, I encourage you to add your vote for this one by sending a feature request in the Feedback section within QuickBooks. Our product development team reviews all the feedback we receive to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our customers.

Here's how to submit feedback:

    1. In your top menu bar, go to Help, Send Feedback Online, then Product Suggestion.
    2. Choose a Type of Feedback and Product Area (optional) from the available drop-down menus.
    3. Enter any suggestions/feedback in your Here is my suggestion: field.
    4. If you'd like, include your name/email in the My name is: (optional) and My e-mail address is: (optional) fields.
    5. Select Send Feedback.

Moreover, I'll also share this article that can serve as your reference if you want to learn how to get the most out of your financial reports: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to post here in the Community if you have any concerns about the new format. We're always here ready to help. Have a good one!

I don't use QBO... My original post says Quickbooks Desktop. Is there no one who can assist with the advanced reporting?

I am implementing QB Enterprise Mfr. Advanced Inventory and have this need desperately for my client. I've sent in a development form request as they asked. Please let me know if you find any other answers from others.

Thank you.
