Hello there, @elliegirl1963,

To avoid unexpected behaviors while printing in QuickBooks Desktop, make sure your Adobe Reader is up-to-date. Check the Adobe website to verify this.

After verifying your Acrobat Reader's compatibility, use the coarse and fine adjustments to align your sales forms. Here's how to do that:

  1. Go to the File menu then select Printer Setup.
  2. Choose Invoice from the Form Name drop-down menu.
  3. In the Printer type drop-down menu, choose Continuous (Perforated Edge).
  4. Tap the Align button. For business forms, pick a template to use for the adjustment before clicking OK.
  5. Use the Coarse button, then OK on the Do Not Adjust Your Printer prompt.
  6. Double-check the pointer line the program printed across the middle of the sample, and note the number closest to the arrow points. Add this number in the Pointer Line Position field then click OK.
  7. If QuickBooks prints a third sample when you press OK, there is an error with the sample test print. Verify your printer settings and ensure the printer isn't adjusted manually.
  8. Take note of the the printer alignment position on the test form for future reference.

If the coarse adjustments isn't successful, do the fine tune adjustment. See the complete steps in the second part of this article: Align checks, invoices, and other forms for continuous-feed (dot matrix) printers.
