I am trying to filter a" sales by item summary" report by preferred vendor.  I can go into the filters and select preferred vendor from the list.  I choose the vendor whose sales I want to report on; however, when I run the report it shows all sales from every vendor in my system.   I feel like this is a fairly straight forward procedure but clearly I am missing something.  PLease help

Hello there, TroutHunter,

The Sales by Item Summary will not filter the report to preferred vendors. If you want to see which preferred vendor is assigned to the item, you'll need to run two reports.

First, run the Sales by Item Summary report. Then, pull up the Item Listing report and filter it to the preferred vendor.

Here's how:

  1. Click Reports on the menu.
  2. Select List, then Item Listing.
  3. Click on Customize Report.
  4. Select Filters, then choose Preferred Vendors. Select the preferred vendor's name.

Compare the two reports to see which items were sold on the preferred vendor.
