Hello,

Is there a way to do a quick report for all purchase orders by purchase order description?

There is no column to add in reports that pulls up this field.

Thanks,
Ben Butler

Hi, @bbutler1.

You can create a custom report of your purchase orders, then add the Memo column to look for them by descriptions. I can help on how.

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop file, then head over to the Reports tab.
  2. Select Transaction Detail from Custom Reports.
  3. Add the Memo column under Display, then switch to the Filters tab.
  4. Set the Posting Status to Either and the Transaction Type to Purchase Order.
  5. Hit OK.
  6. Set the Dates correctly, then click Refresh.

The PO descriptions are added under the Memo column.

For more tips about customizing the data or information on your report/s, you can open this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Also, here's how you can save the settings/customization of your report for future use.

If you have any other questions about your reports or purchase orders, please let me know by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to help. Cheers for more success!
