tenant security deposit

Hi,

 

I'd like to use tenant's security deposit to pay for outstanding invoice- last month's rent.

I created a journal entry to debit the account of tenant security deposit held and I put credit by rental income, but how do i link it to the invoice that the invoice should show paid?

I actually figured it out. Instead of crediting rental income, I credited accounts receivable and then the credit gets applied to the open invoice.
