I tried Auto-fill My Return (AFR) on 3 returns (including my own) today. I was getting the following message:
"CRA Data Import.
Hang tight while we import your date into Profile.
Your session with the CRA's online services did not initiate or timed out. Please close this window or try again."
Just in case, I deleted all the cookies, but it was still impossible to use the AFR feature. However, I was able to access clients' T4 and other slips using "Represent the Client".
I wonder, is this Profile's or CRA's issue? I'd appreciate any input.

Having the same issue. Efile password is up-to-date and RepID is filled in and correct.
I am having the same issue. I can log into CRA represent a client. When I try to autofill I receive the same message as you.
Rcos and Eveyabb: thanks for your messages. The questions remains where this problem originates: at the CRA or Profile? If anyone has the answer, please post it!
Auto fill is not available from 5 Feb to 6 am, 22 Feb. (Received on email from CRA 11 Jan 2021.)
Thanks for your comment.
I don't remember receiving such a message from the CRA-could you copy & paste it, please?
However, on Thursday, February 11, 2021, I successfully auto-filled my client's returns for 2016-2019.
Please see attached.
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't see any attachment.
Not sure why it didn't work yesterday, but now I figured out how to insert as well as I attached again, but it seems the attachment doesn't work very well - so the new way seems to work better.
Thank you! I kind remember receiving this message (I focused mainly on the e-file interruption), but since I was able to auto-fill a return just a few days ago, I thought autofill was still operational.
do you people not READ your emails from CRA ?
They sent out notice a few weeks ago that it was ALL shut down until the 22md.
Why they are this slow this year is beyond me, however they at least gave out warnings
Granted, I should have read the notice from the CRA more carefully. Nevertheless, in spite of what the notice said ("Auto fill will be not unavailable from Feb 5 to 22, 2021), ALL was NOT shut down because, as I mentioned before, I DID auto fill a number of tax returns just a few days ago ("DATA IMPORTED ON FEB 11 2021 06:59:29 PM"). Thus, it's always a good idea to try!
Of course, you should always try. It might have been delayed or will come back early. You never know.
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
AFR for T1 returns is closed at CRA at this time, but, will reopen February 22, 2021
Hope this helps
FYI: I tried again after the Profile update yesterday, and auto-fill works again. Of course, not very many slips are on CRA website as of yet, except Gov't issued and a few others.
Thanks!
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
CRA opened for AFR and T1 e-filing February 22, 2021. Both CRA services are available through the latest version of ProFile, version 2020.3.0. Also, authorizations can be sent from the 2020 T1 module.
Hope this helps
Hi Duncan and Support Team,
in my case AFR function successfully launches the CRA website, allows me to open my rep client, sets up the connection with CRA account, but freezes on the data import - it's step 2 "log in and enter details".
Is it a problem of my Profile or CRA access or what else? Appreciate your input.
I am having this same issue. Tried using AFR this morning and I successfully connect, but it does not get past step 2 and continues to show "CRA Data Import - Ready to import data into Profile".
Any help would be much appreciated.
Nevermind. I solved this issue by downloading the latest version of Profile.
Hi Victoria, try downloading the latest version of Profile. Hit the 'Online' button at the top and click check for updates.
I had the same problem as you until I updated my version.
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
I can confirm that CRA opened for AFR and T1 e-file February 22,2021. ProFile 2020.3.0 is the current ProFile version and can be used for both e-filing and AFR.
Hope this helps
I am having the same issue - although I have updated to 2020.3.0
Error.051 - Not authorized to request tax information
It happens with new clients, existing clients and even on myself....
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
There are no issues with AFR through ProFile 2020.3.0. The Error.051 is a CRA error indicating they do not have an authorization on file. This originated with CRA and not ProFile, although we have a troubleshooting article here. For example, if this is a coupled return make sure that a SIN is entered for both spouses and there is an authorization for both spouses on file at CRA.
Hope this helps
