Is there any way to save a customers TRN number in their customer profile? Is this possible or can you only add customers TRN numbers onto invoices?
Hello Alexander 1,
Welcome to the Community page,
The way in which to put a customers TRN number in is
Go to the customer>edit customer>vat settings> then you can enter the Vat registration number in there> ok
This TRN number should show up on the invoices as well for you.
Hello Ashleigh1,
When I go to edit customer, my only options are: address info, payment settings, sales tax settings, additional info, and job info.
If I go into sales tax settings, i get the options: TAX cod, TAX item, and Resale No.
Should I place the TRN in Resale No.?
Hello Alexander 1,
Do you by any chance have the US QuickBooks?
The differences on the options you are getting in the sales tax settings are,
A resale number allows your business to avoid paying sales taxes on items purchased for resale to customers. A tax ID number, on the other hand, identifies your business in your dealings with tax agencies. Resale numbers are the responsibility of state governments, while tax ID numbers are issued by the federal government.
You could use it, as it's just for information and isn't used anywhere else in Quickbooks.
