Default rates not working properly

Enter line item and it shows the correct default rate for a split second and then changes it to a different price level rate.

Default rates not working properly

Thank you for returning to this discussion and providing further clarification, @LS2024. The potential change in the default rate when adding a line item could be attributed to the price rule setup. Let's work together to resolve this problem so that you can effectively manage your sales process.

Before anything else, could you please specify which sales form you are currently using? Any additional information you provide will be valuable in helping us offer a more targeted and effective solution.

Meanwhile, the pricing rate for your products and services may change due to a price rule that has been created. Let's examine and verify if there's any active price rule that could be causing this problem:

  1. Go to the Settings and select All lists.

  2. Select Price Rules on the list.
  3. Select Edit on the Actions column to see the affected products and services.

  4. If you don't want to use the price rule anymore, you can make the price rule inactive.

Alternatively, you can override the price rate and correct it when entering line items into your sales forms or select the correct price rule for a specific item if needed.

However, if you confirm that no price rule has been set up for your products and services, we should consider performing some troubleshooting to determine if this issue may be related to your browser. Browsers can sometimes exhibit unusual behaviors when interacting with QuickBooks, often due to the accumulation of cached data. Using a private or incognito window can help bypass the stored cache and establish a fresh connection to QuickBooks.

These are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

If it works using an incognito, let's return to your regular browser and clear its cache to restore. You can consider switching to a different supported browser as an alternative.

Learn how to efficiently categorize and manage your products and services within QBO. This will enable you to gain valuable insights into your sales performance and inventory levels when generating detailed reports.
