I'm here to help walk you through the process of how to export all your data from QBO to QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how:

1. Log in to your QBO account.

2. Go to the Gear icon, located at the upper right side of the screen.

3. Select Export Data.

4. Enter the reason why you're exporting all your data.

5. Click Continue.
6. Make sure all the items from the Reports and Lists tabs are toggled.

7. Under Moving to QuickBooks Desktop?, you can click on Learn more

You'll be prompted with confirmation that the data has been exported. Once done, your data is ready to move to QuickBooks Desktop.

@raizygrossman-gm

If you need to convert data from QBO US to QBD US Pro/Premier, you should have the trial version for QBD 2021 Pro. They only provide the trial version for QBD Enterprise 2022 and 2023. Send me a private message and we can share the trial code.

How do I export all data from QBO to desktop?

Nicole, I need to move ALL DATA from QB online to QB Pro 2024 for windows. The only info I can find is this article which is over a year old and not relevant. Can you please give me the exact steps? I've used QB for over 30 years, but I dislike QB online for MANY MANY reasons, including the jagged integration for payroll.

Thank You! Shari [removed] [email address removed]

How do I export all data from QBO to desktop?

I'll guide you every step of the way to move your data from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Shari.

You can still refer to the article provided by my colleague above. This includes the detailed steps to help you move your QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To start, you have to prepare your QBO file. To do so, open your QBO account and on the other web browser and edit the URL in the address bar to this: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt.

  1. This will route you to the Export Overview page. From there, select Get Started.
  2. Next, open your QBDT program and make sure that there are no company files open.
  3. Go back to your QBO and click the Download tool to download and install the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool.
  4. When the download is finished, open the file and Install it.
  5. Once done, click Continue (on the QBO page).
  6. From the Step 2: Select your Data page, choose either All financial data or All financial data without transactions, and click Continue.
  7. In the Step 3: Request your data page, make sure to enter your name and email address when you want to receive the migration confirmation email.
  8. Click Continue and select Close.

Exporting the data might take up to 12 hours or less depending on the size of your file.

  1. Once you receive the confirmation email, go back to the Export Overview page.
  2. Next, select Get Started and then, click Continue.
  3. Click Continue download and click Download QBXML file. Save it in a location where you can easily find it.
  4. Once finished, launch the QuickBooks Desktop migration tool.
  5. Next, click Browse and locate the file you've downloaded.
  6. When done, click Import.
  7. QBDT will ask you to choose a location and name for your new company file (you can still use the name you use in QBO). Click Save.
  8. In the QuickBooks Application Certificate window, select Yes, always; allow access even if QuickBooks is not running.
  9. Click Yes and select Continue. QBDT will then import your company file. Select Done in the prompts.

Check this resource for reference: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

Once everything is fine, you'll want to read this reference to help you set up your QBDT company: Get started with QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll be here ready to lend a hand if you have any other concerns migrating your data from QBO to QBDT. Please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. Have a good one.
