Buy nowI currently run Quickbooks Pro 2014 on a Windows 7 laptop. I want to move this program to a new laptop with Windows 11. I have the original install disk as well as the License and Product Codes. I tried just installing on the new computer but it wouldn't work; it looks like I needed to do something on the old computer first. What are the steps necessary to complete this move?
Hello there, @ljtjg.
Let me share information about moving QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to another device.
When moving QBDT from one device to another, it's essential to consider the system requirements for a successful attempt. With this, you cannot install QuickBooks on Windows 11 since they aren't compatible.
Also, since QBDT 2014 is already discontinued, you'll expect compatibility issues when running the program.
To learn more about the currently supported operating systems for running QuickBooks Desktop, you can review this article: Understand QuickBooks Desktop Compatibility with Beta Operating Systems.
Moreover, consider reviewing this resource to help you upgrade your program to a newer version: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, or Enterprise.
