ODBC drivers for Quickbook Desktop

I have Quickbooks desktop 2019. I want to download ODBC drivers for the Desktop version.  Are drivers available for the Desktop version or do I have to get the Enterprise Version?  What is the difference in price for the Enterprise Version?

ODBC drivers for Quickbook Desktop

You can use the importer tool to support ODBC Compliant Database working with QB Desktop Pro/Premier

Otherwise, you have to use QBD Enterprise starts at $1,340 for Enterprise Silver subscription for single user. The starter plan (i.e. Silver) is only available for purchase from partners/retailers.

ODBC drivers for Quickbook Desktop

Hi there, @lois rickenbach.

I'll ensure you'll be able to download the ODBC driver in QuickBooks Desktop enterprise.

The QuickBooks Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver from FLEX Quarters allows the user to make data from your file manager to customize reports. Moreover, the ODBC driver is available for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 8.0 and later.

Here’s how:

  1. Download and install the ODBC driver.
    1. Download ODBC Driver for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
    2. Download ODBC Driver for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Read Me
  2. Run the file you just downloaded and follow the onscreen instructions.
  3. In QuickBooks, go to File then Utilities, then select Configure ODBC.
  4. Go to the General tab.
    1. Select Use the Company file that's now open in QuickBooks.
    2. In the Data Source Name, enter QuickBooks Data.
    3. Select Test Connection to QuickBooksNote: Sign in to your company file as Admin to be able to run the test connection.
    4. When you see Test Connection to QuickBooks Successful, select OK, then select Apply.
  5. Go to the Messages tab.
    1. Clear the Detail Tracing (Slow) checkbox.
    2. Select the Display Optimizer Status Panel checkbox.
    3. (Optional) To view details of what ODBC is working on, select the Display Driver Status Panel. This will show the number of records processed and the current running activity in ODBC. It’ll also provide an assessment of speed using optimized and non-optimized data, which will let you know if you need to troubleshoot the software's performance.
    4. Select Apply.
  6. Go to the Optimizer tab.
    1. Select the Use Optimizer checkbox.
    2. Default Optimizer file path is (%AppData%\ODBC Driver for QuickBooks\Optimizer). This is the recommended path to use.
    3. Select The start of every query, then select Apply
  7. Select OK to exit the Configure ODBC Driver window.

Furthermore, QuickBooks Desktop products may differ depending on the product feature available to each version. Check out this link to see the price difference of QuickBooks in Desktop Enterprise.
