Is there a way in QBO to look back at my emails that I sent?

Hello carriellisac,

Right now, there isn't a way to retrieve nor look back at the emails you sent from QuickBooks Online. You will need to ask the recipients to see those emails. You can activate the Email me a copy feature to receive your own copy of the emailed transaction moving forward.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
  2. From the Your Company column, choose Account and Settings.
  3. Select the Sales tab on the left.
  4. In the Messages section, click the Edit icon (pencil image).
  5. Put a check mark in the Email me a copy at [your email address] box.
  6. Click Save and Done once you're through.

I've provided a screenshot for you.

Please let me know if you need anything else. I'd be happy to help.

Did you honestly say that there's no way for me to view emails that I myself sent from qbo?

And... that we have to request a copy from our customers?

Am I in the twilight zone?

Is that really true?  Say it ain't so Joe, say it ain't so....

Between that and having no "estimates" tab,  and a hundred other issues...I can't believe qbo sometimes...

Thank you for joining the thread, @shaunmccullough.

You can set QuickBooks to email you a copy of the forms from the Account and Settings page to keep a record of them. Another option is to add your email address on the Cc or Bcc section when sending the forms.

Here's how you can allow QuickBooks to email you a copy of the forms:

  1. Select Account and Settings from the Gear icon.
  2. Click on Sales at the left pane, then go to the Messages section and check the box beside Email me a copy.
  3. Tap Save, then Done.

To enter your email address on the under Cc or Bcc, click on the Cc/Bcc link under the Customer email section.

Once done, you'll automatically receive a copy of the emailed transactions to your email/gmail account.

So, I have a client who I have had to get a little creative with sending out weekly "statements."  The Statement feature in QBO is not formattable to the way I need it, but I was able to create "customized reports" and call them "statements."  I send these reports to customers via email.  Now you can view emailed statements, invoices, sales receipts, etc. but I can't figure out how to view emailed REPORTS so that I can verify the report was sent.  Is there a way to view emailed REPORTS?

THIIS IS SO STUPID. why cant i see an emaiil already seent from quickbooks????

Agreed. This is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy about QB. It's software for keeping meticulous records of transactions. Yet, it doesn't keep a record of outgoing communications. Then their support people tell you that you'll have to ask your client to send you the email back so you have a record of it. "Hi, please trust me with your money, P.S. I don't know how to use email!"

Lesson learned: Quickbooks communications features are not ready for business use. Not only do they fail to keep records, but the proposed solution to set an email in settings isn't even great because you can't set a custom email. Download your invoices and estimates and send them yourself

I am having a hard time believing there is no way to see customer communications like INVOICES.  No way this makes sense based on the what pricing has increased on QB.  Download and send it the only way.  Really.  OUCH.  What are some good alternatives to QBO.

QB developers absolutely need to develop a function for a user to see the emails sent from the company file, specifically by type of document sent, ie invoice, statement, etc, by date and by user.  It's archaic that this does not already exist!?
