2016 pro dowloading bank statements

I know I likely need to just update QB's, but that just isn't an option currently.  I have never used the option of downloading bank and credit card statements, in trying to do so now I get an error message no matter what bank I try to setup. The error is OLSU1011.  Is it worth my time to try any of the fixes or am i just to out of date?

The bank feed feature is only available in supported versions. i.e QB Desktop 2023 and 2024

You can use the trial version for 2023 or 2024 to run the bank feed. Another option, you can use TP Importer for $199 as a workaround for your QB Desktop 2016 or you can get it for free from a partner if your company is located in the US.

Hello there, StewyJ23.

QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2016 is an older version that is no longer supported. Features like Bank Feeds and Direct Connect, which allow QuickBooks to download transactions directly from your bank, are no longer functional. These features require more recent software versions that support updated connectivity protocols and security standards.

However, as a workaround, you can manually import your transaction through Web Connect. This method allows you to download transaction files from your bank’s website and import them into your QuickBooks account.

Here's how:

  1. Open a web browser and sign in to your bank account using your usual login credentials.
  2. Download your transactions as a QuickBooks Web Connect (.qbo) file.
  3. Please note that each bank has a different method for downloading QuickBooks Web Connect files. If you’re unsure how to do this, check your bank’s website for instructions or contact their customer support for assistance.

Once you have the Web Connect file, you can follow the steps in this article to import it into QBDT: Connect with Web Connect (.QBO) files.

Feel free to reply below if you have any follow-up questions.
