I opened by bank reconciliation on my QB MAC desktop 2021. It froze. Now I can't check off any items or reconcile it or close it.

We can perform some steps to fix your bank reconciliation from freezing, JFShears43.

First, download the latest product updates to ensure you have the recent update of QuickBooks.

From the QuickBooks▼ dropdown, select Check for QuickBooks Updates.
If a newer version is available, click Install Update.
When prompted, click Install and Relaunch.
When the update is complete, QuickBooks for Mac automatically opens.

Once done, we can run the Verify and Rebuild Data within your company file to fix issues.

Select File, then select Utilities.
Select Verify Data, then select OK to close all windows.

Thank you so much. Last time that happened I spent over an hour with Quickbooks trying to resolve this problem. It seems as though every time there is an update of Quickbooks or my Mac it happens. Not sure which one is causing the problem. Now I will know the solution.

Before we start, please ensure that your QuickBooks program is updated to the latest version to benefit from the latest improvements and bug fixes. Now, let's proceed with verifying your data.

Here's how:

Go to the File menu and select Utilities.
Click on Verify Data, then select OK to close all windows.
If you receive a prompt indicating "Your data has failed the integrity check," you'll need to rebuild your file. If there are no issues detected, then your data is ready.

If you encounter errors during the verification, proceed to rebuild your files by following these steps.

Here's how:

Navigate to the File menu and select Utilities.
Choose Rebuild Data and click OK to close all windows.
You will be asked to back up your company file before doing the process, then select OK. If you don't want a backup copy, you can select Cancel and proceed to rebuild your file.
Click OK once the rebuilding process is completed.
