Bank Feeds

For some reason, it appears that only when logged in as 'admin', can someone then access bank feeds.

Doesn't seem to matter their permissions or roles...

Hey there, @FJH

It's great to see you back in the Community! Let me share some details about accessing your bank feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.

Yes, you're correct. In order to access the bank feeds in your account, the user will need to be signed in as the "admin."

I can see how beneficial this could be for your business if other users would be able to gain access to this feature. With that being said, I'll submit your feedback to our Product Developers so they can consider improving user permissions and more.

As future reference, here's some guides that could help you out with bank feeds:

Feel free to reach back out for further assistance. I'm only a post away. Have a splendid day and week ahead!

Has there been any resolution on this? Or am I misunderstanding? I simply can't believe that a company who wants to market their software to companies of all size, has such a basic entry-level function such as downloading daily bank feeds limited to a SINGLE person in the entire organization? Only the Intuit account Primary Admin can download bank feeds?

That's barely even function for a tiny company because who handles that process when the one person with access is unavailable.

Essentially Intuit is telling us to continually upgrade products to enhance security yet turns right around and requires companies to share a single credential across multiple people in order complete a basic, routine function.

Thanks for joining us here in the thread, @DeepGrok.

I understand that having this feature is crucial to your business. However, the ability to download bank feeds even if they have full access and are in single-user mode is unavailable.

With this, I encourage you to send product feedback directly to our Product Developers. They're genuinely interested in hearing your input and highly encourage you to send your suggestions.

Here's how:

  1. In the upper right corner, look for the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then, click Next to submit your feedback.

Furthermore, I'm adding these helpful resources for you to be able to know how to troubleshoot QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier user login and restrictions.

If there's anything else you need further assistance with when managing your account, keep your posts coming in this thread. I'll make sure to assist so you can keep your business going. Stay safe, and have a great day ahead!

I've got your back, @mbesso. I'm here to share additional insights about different banking modes in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

In QBDT, you have three Bank Feed modes available. Each mode displays and handles transactions in your Bank Feeds differently. Let me provide the steps so you can change between modes as often as you need.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Edit, and then select Preferences.
  2. Choose the Checking section, then go to the Company Preferences.
  3. In the Bank Feeds section, select either:
    • Advanced Mode: This uses the Transactions List window to add or match transactions. You can quickly update transactions for future matches or create rules automatically to recognize and match transactions to your books.
    • Express Mode: This uses the Transactions List window to add or match transactions. Renaming rules are created automatically.
    • Classic Mode: This uses the account register to add or match transactions. Aliases match names exactly; you control when you want to create aliases.
  4. Tap OK to save your preference.

Furthermore, see these screenshots for the layout differences between banking modes in QBDT:

Once everything's good, you can categorize your downloaded bank transactions to keep your financial data accurate and updated. Refer to this article for detailed steps: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm just one click away if you have other concerns about the system's features or managing bank transactions in QBDT. Take care, and have a great day!
