You came to the right place for help with changing your reconciliation year date in QuickBooks Online, chevota68.
If you haven't completed the reconciliation yet, you can still change the reconciliation ending date by following these steps:
However, if you've already finished the process, you'll need to undo the reconciliation and correct the year date. The Undo option is only available in QuickBooks Online Accountant. I'd recommend inviting your accountant to your company, and let them undo the reconciliation period at once.
Here's how:
Otherwise, you'll need to undo the reconciled transactions one at a time so you can change the date. You can use this article for reference: Undo and remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online. On the same link, you'll find a write-up that provides steps on how to adjust as well as fixing beginning balances.

Hi there I recently reconciled 3 months but instead of doing the current year, I accidentally did last year and now the balance is off.. if I manually undo all the reconciled accounts and correct the date on bank register, will that allow me to re reconcile the month?
I can share some information that can help you with reconciling your accounts, @Bhuertap.

I had the same problem, not accountant version, client has no accountant, no way to invite an accountant user, I tried unclicking the transactions in the register and was still unable to adjust the date. Everyone giving instructions on the undo option is useless when not able to access that. It's a disappointment that the undo feature is not included to begin with. Especially if the client doesn't need that upgrade.
I understand the importance of you being able to reconcile your accounts in QuickBooks Online, @kll2.
If you're not using the QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) version that has the undo reconciliation option, you can manually edit each transaction instead to undo it on your QBO account.

I’ve just realized that my reconciliation date is wrong on a new account I started back in July 2022
do I really need to redo all of the reconciliations completed since I started the account?
Shannon
Yes, you'll have to undo a reconciliation so you'll be able to change the correct date way back July 2022, Sarenarn.
The undo reconciliation is the simplest form of redoing a reconciliation since you'll only have to do it at once. However, as mentioned by @MirriamM, if you're using a different QuickBooks Online (QBO) version, you can manually reconcile each transactions to undo them. You can follow the detailed steps provided above.
Once you've unreconciled them, start doing the changes with the correct date on the new account. Afterwards, you can reconcile them again.
Additionally, QuickBooks generates a reconciliaiton report for each session. To view, print or export the report, go through this article for your guide: How Do I View, Print, Or Export A Reconciliation Report?

Hi,
How do we change just the reconcilation date, the amounts are correct but just statement date entered is wrong.
Hi, is there other way to correct the year of a reconciled month without undo all reconciled transactions?
I was able to fix an incorrect statement date by unreconciling the charges manually under the payment account in COA, then re-doing the reconciliation with the correct date and clearing all the previously cleared transactions. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we can edit or mass change the reconciliation. Frustrating for sure when it's such a simple error to make!
