Question

loan manager area is not functioning since last quickbooks automatic update

Loan Manager, within Banking tab of Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2020 is not accessible since recent quickbooks automatic update.  We have contacted Quickbooks and Intuit.  Support staff sets up tier escalation to resolve, says this is a common problem, assigns a case number and say we will receive a call.  No one calls.  When we call back in, no one can reference a case number  or look up our communications and we are told to start over.

I know how inconvenient it is, jml2019.

I understand how it felt when you've been promised to get an update, but no one calls you back.

Upon checking, there's an open investigation about this one. That's why you haven't heard anything from us.

We've located your case, and as I can se you've been added as one of the affected users.

You will receive a call or email from us as soon as the engineering team has a fix or workaround.

You can always reach out in community for updates or if you have other concerns.

Hello jml2019, I appreciate your follow-up response.

I see you've put so much time and effort into this. I've checked and see that the investigation is still in progress. For now, our engineers are still working on resolving this to share with you the permanent solution. We have seen some success in closing and reopening QuickBooks. I'll walk you through this process and ensure your QuickBooks completely closes, and we'll see if that helps.

  1. To close a company file, go to the menu and select File > Close Company.
  2. Re-open QuickBooks.

Still, I recommend giving us another short call to follow up on the ongoing investigation with our Support Team. Here's how to contact them:

  1. Within your company file, go to the Help menu.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help and click Contact us.

We can check this article to get additional information about tracking loans in QuickBooks Loan Manager: QuickBooks Loan Manager in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thank you for your patience while we're working on the Loan Manager. Visit again if you have other concerns with QuickBooks Desktop.

Thank you for your response!  i am concerned that we are nearing the end of the 90day additional support (to resolve an issue created by qb) we had to pay in order to have support response (which we have not received) is nearing it's end.

Yes, the Loan Manager is another feature that uses browser windows. It's probably broken because of the new internal browser Intuit included in the last update to replace IE.

Their new browser doesn't seem to work every well. Based on posts here, it seems most every feature that uses it appears to be broken in some way: Some features cause QuickBooks to crash or just disappear. Others appear but then are broken. And others don't even appear when you try to launch them.
