Hello there, @RidinDirty.
Let me assist you in fixing your issue with QuickBooks.
You can perform basic troubleshooting to see if it's a browser issue or not. This way, you can clear the outdated file that causes a small problem with your bank feeds. Please open your QuickBooks via a private browser.
Here's how:
Then, check your QuickBooks Balance if it's showing already. If you're able to do so without any errors, you can switch back to the main browser to clear the cache. You can also try using other browsers to isolate browser-related issues.
I've also added an article to help you download your bank transactions manually in QuickBooks Online.
If you have other concerns, please don't hesitate to leave a message in the comment section. I'll be happier to help. Take care, and have a great day.
After recording transactions the balances displayed on the chart of accounts are not correct.
This is occurring more and more frequently. I am concerned about the integrity of the database as this error seems to be frequent.
The condition is repaired by running Verify Data but that should not have to be done.
I’m here to ensure balances displayed on your Chart of Accounts are accurate, @BILLG5.
I can see the inconvenience you’ve currently experienced. Have you encountered any error message before and after recording transactions?
Incorrect information is sometimes caused by damage data. We can perform additional troubleshooting steps to get this fixed. Running QuickBooks File Doctor from the QuickBooks Tools Hub helps resolved your concern immediately.
Since your company file has been rebuilt, you'll want to restore the backup made before the rebuild. If you're unsure where the backup file is located, refer to display hidden files and folders or search for files using Windows for guidance in searching for .qbb file on your computer. Once done, we can proceed to these processes below but make sure your QuickBooks account is closed before using the tool hub. Here's how:
After the installation, please continue with these steps:
Depending on your file size, it takes up to 5 minutes. You can open your company file once the scan is finished. Then check the balance on your COA.
I would recommend creating a backup of your company file after the issue is fixed. That way, you can restore it anytime in case unexpected circumstances happen.
Please let me know how it goes or if you have any follow-up questions about balances in QuickBooks. I'll be here to help. Just leave a comment below.
I have the same problem - on the transaction page it no longer displays both balances. You can see them both on the home page. This is NOT in the register itself, but in the view of all the accounts at the top.
This is not a problem with my accounts that have not been updated to the new view.
This is not a browser issue. This is a change with the new "updated" format.
This does not address her issue at all. This is a problem with the "new" format.
Thanks for the clarification, @erbrel.
I’m here to help and ensure you’ll be able to see both your bank balance and QuickBooks balance in the Transactions menu.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can switch between Business view and Accountant view. This lets you view your account from a different perspective. The view you’re currently using right now is the Business view. To see both your bank balance and QuickBooks balance, let’s change it to the Accountant view.
Rest assured, changing views doesn't affect your accounts or data. To learn more about this, check out this article: Switch between Business and Accountant view in QuickBooks Online.
To change the view of your QBO account, go to the Gear icon and select Switch to Business view or Switch to Accountant view. I’ve added a screenshot below for your visual reference.
Let me also add this article that you can guide you in reconciling your accounts effectively in QBO: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
I’ll be around if you have other follow-up questions in mind. It’s always my pleasure to help you any time. Keep safe and always take care!
Thank you.
I have switched to Accountant view and all is back to normal. Thank you.
However, It is unfortunate that QuickBooks does not think this information is important to a person new to QuickBooks. Understanding that your bank balance and your book balance can be two different things is crucial to money management. Why not educate your new users rather than hindering them with inaccurate information?
Hi, I am having the same problem, I can no longer see the Quickbooks balance, only my bank balance, I have tried switching views, as it was already on Accountant view, I have cleared cache, and restarted by computer, but can still only see my bank balance, not QB balance?
Thanks for chiming in on this thread, jude-edwards.
It looks like you have the new Banking interface in QuickBooks. This is why you don't see the In QuickBooks Balance. I've got a sample screenshot to see the comparison between the old interface and the new one.
What you can do to see the In QuickBooks Balance is click the Go to register link from the Banking page. Then check figures under Ending Balance.
Here's a sample screenshot for a visual guide:

I set up a new company entered my chart of accounts, vendors, etc. including two bank accounts.
Initially, they showed up on the home screen, but after adjusting various preferences, the bank balance box on home screen disappeared.
What did I do??
Thank you,
Brian
Hello there, briangerhart.
We have improved the features on the Banking page. However, we're unable to bring the old design.
I understand the importance of having this feature for your business. I'll make sure to take note of this.
In addition, I'd suggest reading the topics in the Help Articles to get further help with bank feeds and reconciling accounts.
Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you need further assistance about banking. I'll gladly help. Keep safe always.
I also like the old display better. It is unfortunate that it is no longer an option.
