Buy nowI have been using QBOL for a couple of years and have learned from watching videos along the way as well as trial and error so my accounts are all over the place
Is there a way that I can start 2024 as basically a "new" account, where I can reset bank accounts, expenses, chart of accounts etc. without losing the previous years records?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions
I'll share the necessary details about resetting your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account without losing previous years' information, RandyC5.
Depending on your subscription level and the age of your books, you can initiate a fresh start for your program. If your books are 60 days old or older, cancel your current QuickBooks Online company and create a new one. If your books are less than 60 days old, you can purge your company, which clears out your books without canceling your subscriptions. Then, you'll need to re-enter any employee or historical information you want to keep.
To retain your previous data, you'll need to manually export all transactions, name lists, and reports from your company and store them in a desktop folder. This guarantees that you have a backup of the data for future use and can import it into the system.
Additionally, to save your prior data, you can import a custom accounts spreadsheet or your current accounts from another QBO, create and add accounts, and manually upload bank transactions.
You'll want to change your email address, user ID, password, and other information for your QuickBooks. Refer to this article: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.
You're always welcome to post in our Community space if there are other QuickBooks-related questions. I'm committed to helping you resolve any concerns you have. Have a good one.
I would recommend to convert your data to QB Desktop file and use the trial version to access your historical data for good. Then you may start from scratch in a new QBO account.
