Is there a way to speed up adding a "sub-customer"? When adding a sub-customer, it literally takes 8 seconds for the customer to load before I can save.

This slowdown occurs when I'm trying to add a customer account that has a lot of sub-customers.

That 8-second delay when adding a sub-customer to a parent account with many existing sub-customers is a known performance limitation in QuickBooks Online (QBO) due to the large list size, @virna1.

QBO must load and render the entire list to preserve the correct hierarchy and enable selecting the bill with the parent feature, which inherently slows the process.

While there isn’t a single setting to eliminate this delay, there are effective workarounds and best practices to speed things up:

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection. QBO is web-based, and performance depends on your computer’s processing power, available RAM, and bandwidth. A shortfall in any area can impact speed.
  • Avoid having multiple browser tabs or apps open while using QBO, as this can consume resources and slow performance.
