Hey, TVindett.
While those files wouldn't be compatible, I can help you export the QBO Pro file into a QB for Mac file. Just follow these steps:
- Update QuickBooks Desktop for Windows to the latest release.
- Open the company file in QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.
- Re-sort lists.
- Rebuild and Verify your company file data.
- Create a copy of the company file.
- Click the File menu.
- Choose Utilities.
- Select Copy Company File for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
- Save the file on a separate file/folder location with the extension MAC.qbb.
- Restore the file using QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
- In the No Company Open window, choose Browse.
- Search for the file you want to restore.
- If the file is coming from an external drive, create a copy on your device.
- QuickBooks will ask if you want to restore a QuickBooks Desktop for Windows file. Choose OK.
- Type in a name for the restored.
- Click Save.
If you’re prompted with an error while trying to import the company file, you can restore a backup (.dmg) in QuickBooks Mac. If for any reason after following these steps you aren't able to open the QB for Mac file, please reach out to me by replying below. I'm here to help in any way I can.
