Join nowI'm a longtime used of QB Pro Mac. I opened a QB file from sent to me and now QB 2020 Server getting in the way of opening files on my computer. This so so annoying, I'm looking into other accounting programs. It keeps coming back on like a popup virus. All I want to do is write a check and am fighting to permanently turn this extension off.
No I don't share files on the internet.
It isn't the kind of experience that we want you to come across, bugjammer.
You may have turned on the Multi-user mode. Thus, giving you an error when opening your file. That said, let's ensure that the QuickBooks Server is running and if the company file is shared. Make sure the company file is on the same computer the QuickBooks Server app is installed on.
Let me guide you how:
If everything is fine, verify if the file-sharing permissions are set correctly on the host computer.

I'm just a few clicks away if you ever have questions or need anything,
I'm a single user with Quickbook Pro for the Mac installed on other computers, each other computer has their own licensed copy of Quickbook Pro. Not all at 2020, we do not do payroll.
I looked on my Application Folder and there is only the Quickbook application there, no Quickbook Server. There is no shared file on a Server that I use.
QuickBooks 2020 Server is now coming up when I click on any of my QB account, blocking them like a Malware. I turned off, it comes back. I re-click on an account to write another check, it blocks me again. How do you uninstall QuickBooks Server 2020 on a Mac?
The problem seem to be solved by throwing away the old copy of QB Pro 2020 Mac and downloading/installing a new copy. Didn't have to add user information.
