It can be challenging when you can't save a copy of your file, Zola_de_Firmi. I'm here to help you out.

There are several things to check before backing up your company file. I've listed them below:

  • File Name Too Long - having a file name that exceeds 65 characters.
  • File Too Big - the QuickBooks file is more than 3 GB in size.
  • Improper Drive or Insufficient Access Rights - attempting the backup to shuttle it off onto an external drive or flash drive
  • Preference Setting Conflict - the automatic or scheduled backup keeps failing stems from the use of the Keep QuickBooks running for quick startups feature.

Once everything is verified, I'd recommend backing up your file again

If the issue persists, I'd suggest running the Verify and Rebuild Data tool. This scans data issues and self-resolves them. Beforehand, update QuickBooks to have the latest features and fixes.

Here's how to verify data:

  1. Go to File and then choose Utilities.
  2. Select Verify Data.
  3. Click OK if QuickBooks detected no problem with your data.
  4. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you'll be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
  5. Click Close or View Errors and take note of the specific error message.

Next, here's how to rebuild data:

  1. From the File menu, choose Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK if you receive a prompt to back up your company file.
  4. Click OK if the rebuild has been completed and proceed to the next step.
  5. Run Rebuild Data again to make sure there's no error.

Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you use your backup company file (.qbb) to start working in QuickBooks Desktop: Restore your Accounting Data.

Also, please let us know more about the problem showing with your license. A screenshot would be a great help too.

Please keep us posted if you need additional assistance backing up and restoring your data. We want to make sure your record is accurate.

@Zola_de_Firmi

Open the sample file and running the backup process. If the same error persists, you should reinstall your program. What do you mean by "a problem showing with license"? Can you access CAMPS as Primary Contact and find your license there?
