Can't open Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus

I can't open Quickbooks! I get an error message (attached) about the qbregistration.dat file. If I click "No", then I get a 3771 error message (not attached). I recreated the qbregistration.dat file, but  it didn't solve the problem. I spent over 4 hours on phone this week with two different support experts who couldn't fix the problem. I used the Tool Hub fixes. I uninstalled the 2022 version and reinstalled it. I installed the 2023 version, and it got hungup during the automatic uninstall of 2022 because the error message about qbregistration.dat kept coming up. Uninstall completed as long as i could get rid of the error message by clicking "No" or "Ok". 2023 install completed but never opened without getting an error message. Our business has come to a halt because Quickbooks isn't working. Help! Not attaching the qbregistration.dat file too, and I know that the Product Number in it is wrong, but I don't have the 2023 version Product Number! Can only attach one file here.

When installing and preparing your QuickBooks program, you have to make sure that the computer meets the system requirements. Also, have your product and license number entered to ensure that the program run without errors. That could also be the reason why you encountered the unusual message you mentioned. 

 

To fix your issue, I suggest finding your product and license number and entering them when preparing for the installation of your QuickBooks Desktop. Beforehand, you can uninstall QuickBooks 2023 and install it again to enter the mentioned number. Then, you can visit your account management portal (CAMPS) to get your product and license number.

 

However, if you bought a digital version of QuickBooks Desktop from our website, your product info is the original purchase confirmation email. If you bought QuickBooks from a retail store, look for this label on the original packaging next to the UPC Code.

Thank you, Christie Ann for your response. My computer system requirements are fine - no problem there. Since I ordered the 2022 version from the website, that's the only order that shows up in my account management portal. I was doing the automatic update to the 2023 version (I assume) when I first got an error message. It was a 3771 error message with a "yes" button to online help and I followed these instructions which didn't work for me. If I take your suggestion and try to uninstall and reinstall the 2023 Quickbooks, I don't have the product number. When I installed it earlier this week, I was being directed by the support Desktop Pro expert who gave me the product number to enter. I didn't write it down. I have my license number. The article link you sent "Change a Quickbooks Desktop license number, etc" only can be done from the open program. Since I can't open QuickBooks, I can't try that, but it is useful to know for future reference. The file that I sent you with my post mentions that besides the qbregistration.dat file problem, a windows component, MSXML might be damaged or missing. I can try fixing, but I still need my product number for 2023 version to uninstall and reinstall it. I'm attaching the two error messages along with the re-created qbregistration.dat file. There may be an error in this file. Can you help with that? I know the product number is wrong - it's the number for my 2022 version I ordered. I've removed my license number for security reasons.
