Code: Error 212

• Update Quickbooks to the latest release

To set automatic update.

4. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
5. When prompted, accept the option to install the new release.

To do manual updates.

1. Close your company files and QuickBooks.
2. Open the Windows Start menu.
3. Search for QuickBooks Desktop. Right-click the icon and select Run as administrator.
4. While on the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
5. Go to the Options tab. Select Mark All and then select Save.
6. Go to the Update Now tab and select the Reset Update checkbox.
7. When you're ready, select Get Updates.

• Use the QbWin.log file to locate and fix the damaged component or transaction

To locate the QbWin.log file on your computer. You can access it within QuickBooks or through Windows. Here's how to do it within QuickBooks:

1. In the QuickBooks Home page, press F2 to open the Product Information window.
2. Press F3 to open the Tech Help window.
3. Go to the Open File tab and highlight the QBWin.log file.
4. Select Open File.

What/Where is the QBW.LCK file?

I did find the error, but don't know how to fix it.
