I tried opening my QB program today and it showed like I was upgrading, asking to open a back up or restore, sample company etc. I clicked on the file I had and then the error code -6209, 0 showed up saying QB encountered a problem when opening the company file. I downloaded QB tool hub and ran QB file doctor and it went through the process and at the end it said it didn't find anything wrong with the file. If I can't open my file submit a support ticket or restore from backup. I have tried restoring from back up but I still get the issue -6209,0. It also said to repair network problems before accessing from other computers on the network. I do not have any other computers that access. It says QBCF monitor service is not running on this computer and may be blocking QB and also says my anti virus is active and may be blocking QB.
Please help not sure what the heck happened
QB Desktop Pro 2019 running Windows 10. Windows 10 put on in February and has been working just fine until yesterday/today

Thank you for replying. In an attempt to try to repair I have Windows 10 so the repair that posted I was unable to do as mine has modify and even if I hit that nothing happens. If I ran the file doctor on the QB tool hub wouldn't that be doing the exact same thing as repairing how you suggested?
Thank you for replying. It will allow me open a new company when it comes to sample company it opens up into my computer showing different files. When I click on a QB file it opens with nothing in it. So I would have to say no sample company but new company yes.
Tom.
I want this resolved, Tom.
Some instances of Windows 10 don't have .NET 3.5 framework enabled which, QuickBooks Desktop needs to function well. I would recommend enabling .NET Framework 3.5 to fix help fix this.
Here's how:
Also, let's ensure to prevent QBCF Monitor service from re-starting on the workstation. Here are the steps:
I'd appreciate it if you'd update me on how the steps work. I want to make sure everything is up and running.
Thank you for replying. I did exactly as you instructed, .Net 3.5 & .Net 4.5 were already checked (already had a black square in the box). I even unchecked and rechecked them. Disabled the QBCF monitor service and even restarted the unit. Still the exact same thing, encountered a problem when opening. Again I ran desktop file fix and it said found no issues. Please Help, This has my whole company on it and I can't do anything.
I have another solutions that you can perform to fix the issue, Tom Donaldson.
You can rename the .ND and .TLG file to recreate them when you rescan with the QuickBooks Database Server Manager and open your company file. Please know that these are configuration files that allow QuickBooks to access a company file. To do this, you can follow the steps below:
If you're still getting the error, you can open a sample company file to test if the problem is with your company file or the QuickBooks application. If a sample company file doesn't open and instead gives you an error, it's a sign you have damage to your QuickBooks installation. You'll want to repair the installation.
However, if the same thing happens, I suggest reaching out to our support team so they can perform some troubleshooting steps with the use of screen sharing process. They also have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment to double-check your company.
Here's how to reach them:

Please let me know if you have any other concerns about QuickBooks. I'll be right here to help.
It is possible your file is damaged. Contact Support and ask Data Service to check it. Otherwise, you have to purchase a 3d party file repair service.
Evening to all,
I attempted to follow what Maria Soledad told me to do with the .ND and .TLG files but I only found one file with the .TLG no .ND files. So I do not know what to do at this point. Is my only other option to go to screen share?
Thanks to all who have/are responding
Tom
Try this If you are still getting QuickBooks Error 6209.
Hello
To all that assisted in this issue thank you. I apologize for the late response. I ended up have to reload my Windows 10 program. For some reason it lost all of it's permissions (as the computer tech told me). Once the OS was reloaded everything worked/works good.
Thank You Again
Tom
