Memorized Transactions

I had set up a recurring invoice in Memorized Transaction List, and forgot I did so.  I created the same invoice manually (which also now has been paid in full).  Now, when I log in, I get a reminder window that I have a memorized transaction to be entered now (the same invoice, same invoice date).   I had deleted the memorized invoice for that month, yet it still reappears in the reminder window.  How do I remove that memorized invoice permanently?  I have QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2020.  Thanks

Let me help you remove your repeating transaction in QuickBooks Desktop, @DaneLamb.

Once you create a transaction and choose to memorize it, you'll have an option on how you want QuickBooks to handle it.

If you select Add to my Reminders List, the transaction will be added to the Memorized Transactions section of your reminders list.

However, deleting your invoice from the previous month will still keep your memorized sale from the list. This is why you're still getting a reminder.

If you want to completely remove it, simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Lists menu and click Memorized Transaction List (Ctrl + T).
  2. Right-click on the memorized invoice transaction and select Delete Memorized Transaction.
  3. Click OK.

You can also check out this article for more details about memorized transactions: Create and modify memorized transactions.

That's what I did, but I still get the nag screen to enter the memorized transaction.

I’ll make sure you’re able to delete this memorized invoice permanently in QuickBooks, @DaneLamb.

Sometimes data issues are the main reason that QuickBooks behaves unexpectedly. I’ve got troubleshooting steps to share with you so you’ll get back running the business.

You can utilize the Verify and Rebuild data tool to fix issues on your QBDT company file. Here are the steps:

  1. Choose Window and then select Close All.
  2. Go to the File menu, and then click Utilities.
  3. Select Rebuild Data.
  4. Follow the onscreen instruction to back up your data.
  5. When the tool finishes, select OK.
  6. Navigate to the File menu, then hover over Utilities.
  7. Click Verify Data and select Rebuild Now once QuickBooks finds an issue with your company file.

Please know that you'll need to log in using the single-user mode when performing this process. You can check this article about fixing data damage for additional information and instructions if the issue remains the same.

In case you need more information about our report features in QuickBooks. Feel free to check this article about customizing reports. This ensures everything is intact and accurate.

Please send me updates concerning your records. I’m always determined to help in any way I can. Keep safe.

I did the same thing for a group of memorized transactions ugh. Click on "Enter Now" when the message pops up and then delete the duplicate transactions.
