Buy nowHello,
I am looking for the file specifications for importing payroll for from another payroll provider. We will be using Paylocity so if you have a vendor specific format, that would be the one I need. Is this provided somewhere online or will you have to send it to me. We use Enterprise 2021.
Thank you in advance.

Hi there, NKonysky.
I'd like to share some in sights in importing payroll data into QuickBooks Desktop.
If you're trying to import payroll transactions directly from your third-party application to QuickBooks, you should consider entering it manually through journal entry. I suggest consulting an accountant to make sure your books are accurate
I also recommend contacting your third-party app support to help you further in importing payroll data into QuickBooks.
You can check this link for the list of supported application in QuickBooks Desktop: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop.
Post a your reply below and tag my name if you still have other questions about importing payroll data. I'll be in touch. Have a good one.
Prepare your JE data with the following template

This was not a helpful answer. I am also trying to upload payroll data from an outside resource into QB. They are requesting the file format and formatting of the report so that it can be uploaded. I would also need to know how to upload in to QB.
Thank you
Hi there, Kellam. I understand your interest in trying to bring your payroll data from an outside source to our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software. I'm here to share with you some insights about this action.
I want you to know that QuickBooks allows you to input your payroll data into our system by adding them manually or creating a journal entry. While preparing a file format for upload is unavailable, you can temporarily follow the suggested workaround or look for a supported third-party application.
Additionally, you can send a feature request directly to our product developers. This way, they can determine what enhancements and improvements are needed to make our product more effective and convenient for our users.
Here's how:
