I just posted a longer more detailed message requesting help and it was deleted. This is just adding to the frustration, what did I do wrong?
Short version - new QBO Plus user. I am trying to get setup and have done a couple of purges. First time it broke chase connection, so decided to just forget that and manually import credit card. I am an Amazon and ebay seller and used the QB apps to connect those channels. After doing a purge, it does not delete those transactions. How do I actually get a clean slate, considering that is what the purge feature is for?
To correct myself, I do see my first post wasn't deleted, did not realize they had to be reviewed. But, edit feature isn't working either it seems.
I wish you didn't have to relay your issue here twice just to be able to fix this, @Terriermike.
I understand how important it is to be able to restart and carry on with your business, so I want to make sure everything is well taken care of.
If your QuickBooks Online company data is less than 60 days old, please know that you have the option to purge your account. All of the information that you have entered into your company will thereafter be deleted by the system. If in your case, you weren't able to do so, it may be caused by the browser. To sort this out, I'd recommend using a private window. Here's how to access incognito mode in some of the most commonly used web browsers:
Once done, try to open your account again and see if the data has already been cleared. If it works, let's clear your browser's cache to fix the unexpected behavior in the product. Use other supported web engines if not. QuickBooks might have a short-term issue with the one you're using right now. Utilizing a new browser allows you to get back to working order.
However, if it's more than 60 days old, you'll initially have to cancel your account and then start a new subscription to have a clean slate. Please refer to this article to know how: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, you can refer to this article in case you'd like to create or add another company file to QuickBooks Online in the future: Manage company files in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you have other concerns about managing your QBO account. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your reply. Have a great day!
