QB Desktop 2019 will not launch at all.

QBLaunch.exe - System Error

I can help you get rid of the error, @api10.

 

Here are the possible reasons why QuickBooks is not responding and you're getting the error

  • A damaged hard drive
  • The company’s name is too long or extensive
  • An obsolete operating system
  • QuickBooks Desktop is not installed correctly
  • Corrupt QBWUSER.INI file.

Let's first make sure that your QuickBooks is updated to the latest release to check its compatibility. Once verified, let’s check if the issue persists in the company file or the program itself. Just press and hold the Ctrl key while double-clicking your QuickBooks icon. 

 

If it fails to open, let's download and run the QuickBooks Tools Hub. From here you can run the Quick Fix, it will shut down any open background processes QuickBooks uses. Also, it'll run a quick repair of your program. Here's how:

  1. Download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. From the QuickBooks Tools Hub, click Program Problems.
  5. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  6. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Thank you for getting back to me!  I'm still dead in the water ...I tried all the steps you gave me thru to Solution 3 from the article.  I restarted my computer but still getting the same message.  Should I move to Solution 5 in the article?  Or do an Uninstall/Reinstall?

QBLaunch.exe - System Error

My QB has been down all day now and I need someone to call me, please!!!  I Uninstalled QB and ran a fresh reinstall from my Account on Intuit.  QB uninstalled OK, but now will NOT reinstall.  I am getting the SAME message from this morning when I was trying to launch my QB Desktop, which seems to be the root of the problem....THE CODE EXECUTION CANNOT PROCEED BECAUSE .DLL WAS NOT FOUND.  Please tell me how I can reinstall QB.

I can give steps on how you can request a callback from our Support Team and re-install the QuickBooks Desktop program. Make sure your computer meets the system requirements and have your product and license number handy.

 

Then, follow these steps to install:

 

  1. Open the file QuickBooks.exe you downloaded.
  2. Follow the onscreen instructions. Accept the software license agreement and then click Next.
  3. Enter your Product and License number and select Next.
  4. Choose the install type (Express install or Custom and Network install)
  5. Select Install
  6. When it finishes installing, select Open QuickBooks to get started.

Once you're done with the installation, QuickBooks will ask you to activate and update the program. You can click this article for the detailed steps: Activate QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

I tried your suggestion with the same result.  The reinstall bombs out at 35% with the same setup.exe System Error:  The code execution cannot proceed because .DLL was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.  

I did Retry the Install with the same result.  Thanks for your suggestion.  My QB has been down now for 10 hours now.

Unfortunately I can't follow your steps to get someone to contact me since QB Desktop hasn't launched all day.  I am on Windows 10 Home version and it is completely current & updated.

Sometimes a Windows update is conflicted with a certain released version of QuickBooks. To isolate the issue, consider installing the trial license of QBD 2021 Pro to compare.
